Beetle Sculpture

Dung beetles lay their eggs in a sphere of dung and then roll it to a secure place in which the eggs can successfully hatch. As unsavory as this may sound to us, this is what these creatures go through to ensure the wellbeing of their offspring. Life is carved from a single piece of ironwood and mounted to a stone base. It features a dung beetle straining to push a dung ball uphill.
